Hello ladies and gentlemen of 5/6.
I would like to be an SRC representative because it would give me another leadership role and give me a big boost of confidence in decision making.
I have never had a huge leadership role in school before, other than that one time in grade 1 or 2 (or was it 3..). I may have anxiety but that won’t stop me in finding the way to get more self-confident with everything I do.
Not only will being an SRC help me with my self-confidence, but it would also help prepare for something else, being a curator in Amino, now, if you don’t know what Amino is, I’m just going to sum it up for you; it’s a huge social networking site.
I know that being a simple representative won’t let me make the huge decisions, like putting on fundraisers, but it will get me prepared for talking to crowds due to the SRC sometimes talking during the assemblies to make announcements for events that are coming up.
I would love to help this school raise money for things that they need, like substitute teachers or money for charity. Even though others may seem like better options, have you ever thought about what you want for the school? It’s okay if you haven’t, but if you have, I could help.
Like my grandfather said; “Just because you didn’t do something right the first time, doesn’t mean it’s not right for you, it just means it’s a step in the right direction.”
Thank you 5/6 for taking your time to listen to what I have to say.
We were moving very fast when…
I felt my body lunge forward, it was all happening too fast. I couldn’t see, my hearing was blocked by screams of children.
My mother screamed as the airbag let itself out. The car started to smoke from the hood. We must’ve crashed.
My little sister cried out as the windows smashed. People immediately flocked to the car, asking if we are okay. My father lay lump on top on the steering wheel, not moving, but still breathing.
My mother was still in shock, it all happened to fast. Way too fast for us.
I’m excited to be in 5/6A this year! 🙂

It’s something small, yet it holds many ideas in it.
It can create on anything, even if it’s just in your imagination.
Sure, using it can be hard at first, but it still can create anything you want.
If it makes something someone else likes, they might get interested, and continue to like the ideas.
It may not create anything beautiful at first, but practice will help.
First it sketches, then makes the lineart, the it colours.
If you want to take it a step further, it will shade.
People do this, with it, for a job.
It has a rubber at the end, and it has lead inside of it.
The two itty-bitty scientists stood on the concrete pathway in a shady, yet sunny abandoned street.
Jeremey was getting ready to go into the ginormous glass container filled to the brim with sweet and delicious lollies. Kiku was just bursting to see what was going to happen to the container when the shock-breaker-60000 blasted.
After Jeremy was in the container, Kiku started to count down, “3…. 2…. 1….” She started to power up the shock-breaker-60000, as it slowly heated up, the glass started to shake. Some lollies tipped over the sides. As soon as it was at full power, Kiku pushed the button and BOOM! The glass and machine broke into halves…
My Father said that what lies ahead of the horizon is a magical land full of unicorns and rainbows.
I told my friend about this, she laughed and said that he was joking.
“Really?” I asked.
“Yeah!” She laughed. “The only thing that is past the horizon is more land and water!”
“Oh…” I was really disappointed.
After that day, I soon learnt that my friend was right.
But I still try to find that land, even if it doesn’t exist.
I Don’t care what my friends say, I Still want to try! Even if it ends in disappointment.
So, what lies ahead of the horizon is something that is mythical.
It was raining today, quite heavily I might add. I checked the weather on the news website, it said that it would be a storm, a great big one. The biggest one in the last 500 years!
I was quite shocked, I hated storms; with a passion. My earliest memory of experiencing a storm when I was 3, 12 years ago. It all started when I was with my Dad, lying on the couch with the TV on, the rain pitter pattering on the windows in the background. I liked it, just some normal rain. Until I heard a low, rumble in the distance. My father said it was a storm.
Then suddenly, it went… dark…
I was wandering in the woods with my friends, Anna and Jenna. We were all having a laugh and a great time! Until ‘it’ happened.
We were in the middle of walking on the log until I heard some sort of growl, coming from the part of the woods that were surrounding us. I got really paranoid. Until I realised, big animals don’t live in the forest!
“Hey, did anyone here that?” Jenna asked.
“Here what?” Anna replied.
“That growl.” Jenna said, “It sounded like a bear.”
“Nope!” Anna said.
“I heard it.” I managed to say in a quiet voice.
Suddenly it came rushing towards us.
As it was rushing towards us, we ran.
Deep into the woods.
I was walking along the beach when I saw a seal lying on the ground, It looked happy, I jogged over to it and It went back into the beach.
I was puzzled, but I shrugged it off and jogged back to my trail of foot prints. I suddenly heard a loud ‘SPLASH’ and the seal was back where it was before. I decided to run over to the seal this time, so i could catch it. But nope! As soon as I was about a meter away, it dove back into the water. I groaned, just a little and then went back to my spot.
I heard another ‘SPLASH.’ I didn’t bother going over there. I looked and the seal was laughing!
